Engage and Introduce

What You Will Need

  • Camera
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Construction paper
  • Laminate or clear contact paper

Small or Whole Group

Paw Paw Patch Song

  • Prior to the lesson, take pictures of the children then glue on to construction paper and laminate or cover with clear contact paper.

Whole Group

Explain to the children that a picture of one of their classmates picture will be shown and then they will sing the Paw Paw Patch song. When they have finished singing then the child can stand up and say: "Here I am"! 

Small Group

Explain to the children that they will draw a picture out of the bag and then the small group will sing the Paw Paw Patch Song. Once the song is over then the children can discuss where that child is. 

Apply

Have the children join in when singing the song. Clap hands to the rhythm of the song.

Assessment

Notice if the children where able to remember the names of the children in their classroom. Observe if they were able to clap to the rhythm of the song.
